Courage in the Conflict

Sunday, March 28th, 2010

Life is full of conflict and opportunities to be courageous. It has been said (Marianne Williamson) that “Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure.” We will hear how one woman has faced conflict at home and in business and has seen God’s power work in and through her.

Debbie Farah is a first generation Palestinian-American and the founder and President of Bajalia Trading Company, a non-profit fair trade organization that partners with entrepreneurs and artisans in impoverished countries to stimulate economic growth.

Debbie brings 20 plus years of design and advertising experience into the founding of Bajalia Trading Company. Her previous experience in advertising and design roles for major retailers include: Bloomingdale’s, Rich’s, Neiman Marcus, Horchow, Macy’s and Marshall Fields.

Ms. Farah has served on several non-profit boards and is passionate about utilizing her art, business and design skills to make a difference in the lives of people in economically disadvantaged countries. She studied Business and Economics at the University of North Florida in Jacksonville.
